I had a terrific visit to the Hmong Village (Johnson Parkway and Phalen Blvd…another addition to “East Side pride”) in mid-October, graciously hosted by current School Board member Kazoua Kong-Thao. Met some terrific community members and also ran into well-known Hmong scholar Dr. Zang Blong and his family. Also, as usual, found some favorite foods and new treats in the marvelous marketplace. So many of the shopkeepers and their families are from St. Paul and their kids go to our schools — how lucky we are! Also got the opportunity to briefly present my campaign on live Hmong TV.
