Background

I grew up in Macalester-Groveland, bought my first house in Selby-Dale, and now live in Highland Park. I have also lived and worked in Chicago, Houston, Switzerland, and Germany but St. Paul is definitely my home.

Community work:

Profession: Self-employed since 1985 as a consultant in strategic planning, public involvement, and communications; serve primarily the public and nonprofit sectors. See my website for more information.

Education: Master of Planning in Public Affairs from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and English, both from the University of Minnesota; Phi Beta Kappa.

Family and personal interests:

  • Spouse Bruno Franck
  • Two children; both went to Jackson Elementary in Frogtown, then on to Highland Park Junior High and graduated from Highland Park Senior High, then on to become college graduates, one from the University of Minnesota Morris and the other from St. Paul College
  • Avid bicyclist, camper, photographer, and jazz fan
